Grace Academy is blessed to have many partners including:

 

 

The Ethel Walker School has hosted our summer school extension program, and collaborates on community service, athletics and arts projects.

 

Miss Porter’s School faculty and students volunteer for Club activities, field trips, tutoring, coaching and summer camp experiences.

 

East Catholic High School hosts retreats, field trips, provides arts education, and students and adults who lead Tuesday Club activities such as ballet, voice, sculpture, photography, theater and more.

 

Hands On Hartford recruits volunteer tutors for Study Hall, provides school supplies and a weekend nutritional food “backpack” for our students and their families.

 

Soroptimist International of Farmington Valley, an international organization of business and professional women, works to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world.  Members of the Farmington Valley chapter are involved with Saturday Field Trips (Dance, Self-Defense Instruction), Activities (Culinary Arts), Tutoring, Art, Photography, Fundraising and more.

 

The House of Bread provides lunch for our students two days a week.

 

Girl Scouts of Connecticut provides summer camp experiences at one of their 12 campsites and field trips as part of their science curriculum (Science in a Box).  Grace Academy students join Girl Scouts and the Girl Scouts organization leads a Troop at the school. They offer Leadership and self-esteem development during extended day hours.

 

Charter Oak Cultural Center has collaborated on various projects and has helped to provide instructors for art, music, theater and dance.

 

Hartford Stage Company hosts a series of week-long English Language Arts programs focusing on the books: Number the Stars, The Breadwinner, Bronx Masquerade, and Twelfth Night.  Company members involve students in dramatic interpretations of these stories.

 

Literacy Volunteers of Greater Hartford is committed to providing our parents with services including classes in ESL (English as a second language) and obtaining a GED (High School Graduate Equivalent Diploma).


2-4-1 Sports joined Grace Academy in 2016-17 to provide physical literacy programs.


The First Tee provides educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.

 

The Hartford and HIMCO Each year, The Hartford employees engage in a day-of-service at Grace Academy. Service has entailed gardening, painting, cleaning, library assistance and more.  A team from HIMCO leads an Investment Club.


PricewaterhouseCoopers provides hours of volunteer time, classroom instruction in finances, host of an arts/dance program at The Artists Collective.

 

Virtus Investment Partners donates backpacks with school supplies to our students every year.

 

Stanley Black & Decker provides great auction items to sponsor the Power of Grace event and is employing graduates as summer interns.

 

Jackson Lewis, LLP  Each year, Jackson Lewis employees donate color-coded folders and notebooks for the students’ core subjects.

  

University of Notre Dame Alumni Chapter of Greater Hartford donates hours of volunteer time and continues to organize an annual golf tournament to benefit Grace Academy.

 

Leadership of Greater Hartford provided a “Quest” team of 10 members to Grace Academy in 2010, our initial year. The team provided support and advice for the creation of our library, marketing materials and more.

 

University of St. Joseph has led the summer STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) classes for the summer school session, and provides course work for a Master’s degree to our teachers.

 

University of Hartford offers course work for a Master’s degree to our teachers.

 

Trinity College students donate their time for Trinity College’s annual Do It Day.

 

Aurora Women and Girls Foundation provides grants that offer women and girls tools to become economically self-sufficient and it supports their families through education and job training.  Aurora has funded extended-day, field trips, and other special programs since the founding of Grace Academy in 2010.

The Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, Sisters of St. Joseph, Sisters of Mercy, and the Daughters of the Holy Spirit have endorsed our school and provided faculty, tutors and other personnel.  Funding from these Orders has helped cover continuing education and GED instruction for some of our parents.


South Congregational Church has generously provided us with a beautiful home for our school at a very generous rate.
